No, Oil of Oregano is derived from three types of "oregano" plants. Wild Mediterranean plants (Origanum Vulgare ssp. hirtum), Spanish plants (Thymus Capitus), and Mexican plants (Lippia Graveolens).

Only Oil of Oregano produced from true Wild Mediterranean species harvested from the mountainous regions of the Mediterranean (Turkey & Greece) has been found through clinical research to demonstrate antimicrobial (antibiotic & antifungal) properties. This can not be said of Spanish or Mexican Oregano Oil.

Not always. Unfortunately many manufacturers are misinformed (some are out right unscrupulous) and mislabel their product. Often products are labeled as containing Origanum Vulgare or as Wild Mediterranean even though the oil actually originated from Spanish or Mexican plants. In order to be useful true Oregano Oil must be blended with a carrier oil. Unfortunately some companies have taken this fact to the extreme and diluted their products to such an extent that the Carvacrol to carrier oil ratio is very weak.

The very best method for systemic delivery of this product is to place 3-4 drops directly under the tongue, allow it to linger for a few seconds. Now take a sip of a liquid of your choice, swirl it around in your mouth and swallow. Juice can help to mask the strong flavor.
